ExperienceI am a tutor with extensive experience studying and teaching the social sciences. I attended UCLA and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Political Science. I also minored in Global Studies. I am comfortable tutoring a wide array of subjects, including American History, European History, Anthropology, Geography, Economics, English, and Poetry. I am also able to teach students how to write essays, stay organized, and prepare for tests. I am especially adept at teaching public speaking, government, and politics because of my experience working for non-profit organizations, political campaigns, and government agencies. My philosophy as a tutor is to help students discover how to find solutions on their own rather than simply giving them the answers. I am fully capable of providing students with answers and explaining them in a clear and concise manner, but I have discovered that students retain information better if I provide questions instead of answers. This allows students to become more responsible for their own learning rather than having someone do the hard work for them. In my free time, I like to travel. Some of my adventures include visiting London for the Olympics, finding a hidden pool in the Mojave desert, and running with the bulls in Spain. Additionally, I enjoy visiting museums, playing video games, and cooking.
