#### Education

University of California, Santa Barbara - BS, Physics#### Experience

I received my bachelor's degree in physics from the University of California. I've been tutoring friends and peers since 2005 and have been working as a professional tutor for more than six years. I primarily tutor students in math and science at the high school and collegiate levels.Over the years I have truly come to understand just how vital it is to keep students thoroughly engaged in the learning process. If students are simply trying to do the minimum required by a teacher, they will eventually begin to struggle in the class as they fail to grasp the building blocks of the subject. By keeping them engaged they become accountable for their own success. I've developed many methods for delivering information and ensuring each student has a full grasp of any missing concepts that lead to their current difficulty. I recognize students learn at different rates, and I take the time to make sure they are actually learning the material instead of rushing on to the next item. Some of the courses I tutor include algebra 1 & 2, calculus 1 & 2, differential equations, trigonometry, biology, chemistry, math, science, and physics. When I'm not working with students I enjoy gardening, watching sports, and cooking.#### Hobbies
