Education

BA in Communication Studies & Education Minor from UCLA, 3.97 GPA (Summa Cum Laude) Certificate in College Counseling from UCLA Extension MEd from UCLA Graduate School of Education & Information Studies

Experience

I graduated Summa Cum Laude from UCLA before receiving my Master's in Education and Certificate in College Counseling. I have been profiled in The New York Times, Vogue, Huffington Post, The Guardian, and Vice Magazine, among others, as an artist-educator, thought leader, and expert in Higher Education. As an educator, I am immensely passionate about helping students thrive as learners while becoming aware of their unique strengths, aspirations, and intellectual curiosities. While on full academic scholarship at UCLA, I was selected to be both a Ronald E. McNair Research Scholar and Wasserman Scholar. Since my days as an undergrad, I have continued to work as a researcher in the UCLA CHOICES Project, which examines successful college counseling practices at California high schools. My research has garnered numerous awards and honors, including an invitation from the U.S. Department of Education to present my work for congress in Washington D.C.! My students benefit from my vast knowledge of highly successful application strategies grounded in extensive research. Through my unique and holistic approach to college admissions coaching, I have helped scores of high school, transfer, and college students gain admissions to highly competitive universities such as Cornell, UC Berkley, Yale, and University of Chicago's Booth School of Business (MBA). I specialize in creative and academic writing, admissions, financial aid, verbal SAT/ACT, personal branding, humanities, and the social sciences. I love to see my students succeed, and believe that learning should be fun, results oriented, and tailored to each individual's learning style. As a college admissions coach, I believe it is extremely important to focus not only on getting IN to college, but to also explore what a student wishes to get OUT of college. I can't wait to meet you and lead you on the journey to college acceptance and academic success!

Hobbies

I've been playing and performing music my entire life. I love to write songs, poetry, and creative nonfiction. I am deeply passionate about social justice, educational equity, the environment, and making our world a better place. My favorite books to read are ones about positive psychology, teen development, and building self esteem in oneself and others. In my spare time, I practice front-end web development (I'm teaching myself Ruby right now too, but I still have A LOT to learn.) I'm obsessed with technology, entrepreneurship, popular culture, all things digital and social media, music, fashion, and film. I train in Krav Maga (Israeli Ju Jitsu) and practice Yoga daily. I also love to run, hike, camp, fish and just be outdoors.
